Who can come to Hyde Park Center?
Anyone in Greater Cincinnati can come to the Center for meals and wellness and learning activities. Social Work case management and transportation is limited to 7 east Cincinnati neighborhoods: East End, Hyde Park, Madisonville, Mt. Lookout, Oakley, O’Bryonville and South Norwood.
Do people live at Hyde Park Center?
No, Hyde Park Center is not a senior housing facility but a community center for lunch and activities. HPC also provides transportation and professional case management for older adults.
Can the Center help me find other services I need?
Yes. The case manager is well-informed about other available services for seniors. She will guide you through the process of obtaining community resources.
Will Hyde Park Center pick me up from my home and take me to the doctor?
Yes, you will be picked up at your home if you live in one of the following neighborhoods:
East End, Hyde Park, Madisonville, Mt. Lookout, Oakley, O’Bryonville and South Norwood.
Destinations for medical appointments include downtown, Clifton, Hyde Park, Norwood, Mariemont, Mercy Anderson, Kenwood, Bethesda North and the Cincinnati Eye Institute in Blue Ash.
What is the cost for meals?
The suggested contribution is $5.00 per meal for people 60 and older. If you are unable to pay the suggested amount, pay what you can. A box is available for your private contribution. There is a separate charge of 50 cents for coffee or tea.
What is the fee for programs?
Most programs do not have a fee. Others have a nominal fee to cover costs. Some programs are discounted for members.
Are reservations required for meals?
We ask that you call at least by 9 am, so we have an accurate count for preparing the meal. In some cases we have to take a waiting list if there are more people than expected, so it’s best to call as soon as you know you want to come. Reservations may be made up to a month in advance. Cancellations are also appreciated, so we can open up your spot to someone else. Call 513-321-6816.
When are programs held?
Do I need to be a member to come to the Center?
Membership is not required except for a few members-only programs offered as membership benefits. Membership is a way to show your support of Hyde Park Center.
